Barbara Castermans (Hasselt, 1977) explores how organic forms unfold through processes of growth and transformation, branching out and gradually developing structures of their own. The organic lies not only in what emerges visually, but above all in the making itself: an intuitive and gradual process, without a predetermined outcome, often carried out with nothing more than a blue BIC pen.
